KAPA is proud to hold its Annual Conference in Daejeon, Korea from June 27-29, 2012. The conference will provide a forum to discuss the significant role of public administration in national development. The Conference is organized in collaboration with the ASPA.

We welcome scholars, academics, practitioners and consultants working in public or para-public sectors to submit papers within the theme: “Public Administration and Development: the power of experiences”

Over the last decade, public administration in most countries has made a major contribution to national development and will play a vital role in the future as well. While some countries have made significant progress in managing change and controlling their future, others have lagged behind. Whatever their level of progress, all governments feel the need to make contiguous improvements in public administration in responding to changes in the environment, technology, assumptions and dynamics of public administration. However, many of the organizations and institutions in the public administration still operate in the old paradigm of development.

In this milieu, it is vital to address the opportunities and strategies for meeting the future challenges to improve public administration by drawing a wide array of experiences and approaches to public administration reform. This conference aims to bring together high-quality academic research on how public administration can manage to incorporate the challenges of the future national development into its institutions and create the implementation capacity to translate those concerns into practice. It is envisaged that the conference will provide the foundation for continued intellectual collaboration and networking on core themes that emerge from the papers.

- Application of Public Administration in development
