2014 United Nations Public Service Awards. Call for Nominations

The United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA)

The 2014 United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) Programme is now open for nominations. The call for nominations began on 18 September 2013 and will close on 18 December 2013. The UNPSA is an international recognition of excellence in public service and rewards the creative achievements and contributions of public service institutions that lead to a more effective and responsive public administration in countries worldwide and seeks to disseminate the initiatives for replication.

The award is open to all public institutions and organizations including Government and public-private partnerships involved in delivering services. Your institution is welcome to nominate projects that have improved delivery of public services to citizens around the globe for the award.

Please be advised that the nomination form must be completed online on the UNPAN portal at: http://www.unpan.org/applyunpsa2014  where submission rules and the online application form are available. For information on past UNPSA events, including winners, please go to http://www.unpan.org/unpsa . UNPSA winners are recognized every year on 23 June, which is the designated United Nations Public Service Day.

The Awards for 2014 will be bestowed in the following four categories:

1.    Improving the Delivery of Public Services
2.    Fostering Participation in Policy-Making Decisions through Innovative Mechanisms
3.    Promoting Whole-Of-Government Approaches in the Information Age
4.    Promoting Gender-Responsive Delivery of Public Services
